Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition has the form of a standardized music competition, while it also intends to provide a stage to young Japanese, Hong Kong, and Asian musicians for cultural exchange beyond generic competition, to open and widen the possibilities into the future. JHMA intends to provide opportunity to meet and communicate with world-class professional musicians as the jury members of the competition; winners of the competition will receive recommendation to participates in international music competitions in Japan, Europe and the US, or Music Camp in Japan with international cultural exchange experience; our goal is all-round education through the invaluable resources of classical music.
 
 
<The 1st Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition>
 
In July 2012, the 1st Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition was held in a designated location in Hong Kong. The competition was categorized in participants age and the level of performance, for 3 instrument sections including Piano, Violin and Flute. Intensive yet fair judgement was conducted by juries coming from Japan, Hong Kong, China, and other places. Over 150 young musicians participated in the competition, reflecting the enthusiasm of Hong Kong audience toward music education, along with the active interest to Japanese culture.
Those young musicians from Hong Kong, Japan and Korea awarded the prizes in the competition were given invitation to participate in the Osaka International Music Competition as a supplemental prize, along with the invitation to perform in "Dragon Concert" held in Zushi-city, Kanagawa-prefecture, Japan, held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the restoration of the diplomatic relationship between China and Japan.
The competition does not set up the age limitation nor restriction by nationality in order to participate. Furthermore, the Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition is going to admit wider variety of applicants from the entire Asian to find out undiscovered talents throughout Asia.
